I bought myself an old school film camera and some Portra 800 film and brought it along to a park outing (before the snow fell!) a few weeks ago. Here are some of my favorite images shot at Andrew’s Park in Champlin MN.

Does leaving them, when they are watching you with their sad little doe eyes, ever get easier?

I can’t even put into words how sweet this family was. I had the chance to meet them a week earlier at their extended family session so when we got back together this past weekend- everyone was ready to rock and roll. I love laid back sessions that are interspersed with playing and silliness. Makes for such genuine smiles!

I love when families are up for fun, urban locations! This family met me at a great spot in Downtown Minneapolis for their extended family photography session and not only where they all lovely and photogenic- but the kids were great too! Don’t you just love the purple? I know I do!

We are home today with a fever. All she wants are cuddles with her Rottweiler.

This gorgeous family came to me all the way from Monticello and, while the drive may have taken awhile, the end result was so worth it! I am in love with this new location for fall photos and I can’t wait to use it again.
Gorgeous family + perfectly behaved children (how does that even happen with a family of 5?!) + lovely weather + stunning natural light = total family photography session success!

I caught her reading under the table this morning. She gave me the stink eye when she realized I was there.

My daughter, the little mommy.

So the weather may have made a serious turn for the chilly this past two weeks, but the Minneapolis Farmers Market was gloriously warm and sunny when we went two weeks ago. From foot long hot dogs with the best lemonade on the planet to books to organic jewelry made from nuts to live music to flowers to veggies pulled out of the ground just that morning, the Minneapolis Farmers Market has everything. It draws people from miles and miles around and really is an all morning event. We’re done for the season now but next summer will come soon enough and we’ll be back in full force, re-usable bags in hand.

Head on over to see what the fabulous Paige Wilks is up to next!

I photographed this gorgeous mom and dad over this summer and now their little girl is here and she’s just a doll! We met in Uptown, just off Hennepin Ave in Minneapolis at one of my favorite spots that is a great mix of urban and lawns and not only did their little miss not cry one peep, but she was “talking” up a storm and had everyone smiling ear to ear. I love photographing babies at any age but it’s always so fun when they start to have personalities.
