I always love getting to capture families as they grow and bring new babies home. Siblings, especially toddler siblings, might seem like a handful at newborn photography sessions but there is just so much joy that it’s impossible to not smile and laugh through the whole thing.
I’ve had the pleasure of capturing this family in their home in Edina since their oldest was brand new and it was so much fun to see them again for baby number two. Adorable nursery? Check. I had the honor of photographing this family when they first became a family of three and now I got to see them again as they jumped from being a family of three to a family of five at all once! #twinjoys
They may have moved into a bigger home in Wayzata and now have three little ones to feed and bathe and like, keep alive (which, as any parent knows, ain’t easy) but they still had the same laid back, loving vibe as they did years ago. I love watching moms and dads grow more fully into themselves and a newborn photography session is a great way to capture those first few sleep-deprived days so that you can look back on the images in the coming months and years and remember what it all felt like.

Happy November everyone! It’s Thanksgiving month so you know what that means… BLACK FRIDAY SALE TIME!
Same as I did for 2018, which worked wonderfully, this year’s sale requires NO PASSWORD, NO PROMO CODES, and NO FACEBOOK! New for this year is the option to have your Black Friday Petite Session at a more urban spot instead of just the field location.
How: Simply click HERE to pre-register and the sale will go live at midnight on Thanksgiving night!
What: Up for grabs are FIVE Petite Sessions for only $395. Normally $495, they will be $100 off during the sale and can be used anytime in 2020; there is no requirement to use them by a certain month next year.
Details: Petite Sessions are 30 minutes long and take place at a gorgeous field in the NW Metro or an urban spot in historic downtown Anoka, about 45 minutes before sunset. Sessions generally yield at least a few dozen images, if not more, all images come in color and black & white and are delivered via digital download. I am often asked by new clients if they should opt for the Petite, Standard, or Deluxe Session and the answer is, if you have young children and don’t need a lot of the traditional everyone-smiling-and-looking-at-the-camera type images, then a Petite Session is more than enough time to capture the love and connections already present in every moment of your family.
Newborn session? Deluxe. Extended family session? Standard or Deluxe. Urban, beach, or non-field location? Standard session. I don’t you I was going to blog a bunch today, didn’t I!? Promise made, promise kept.
Last up for today’s updates is this lovely family of four who are brand new clients this year. Many of you may not know, but that vast majority of my work are repeat clients who have been with me for years, so much so that I sometimes get lazy in my marketing and outreach to new clients (*cough* like not blogging for ages and then blogging five sessions in one day *cough cough*) so I really love it when I get to meet new families. And it’s doubly sweet when they have girls as adorable as these two were!
We ended up rescheduling this session more times than I think I’ve ever had to due to rain and icky weather but the flexibility paid off because just look at that gorgeous Minnesota fall sunset! LOOK AT IT! Okay, yelling is over.
