This family drove all the way up from Rochester, MN to the Stone Arch Bridge Area of downtown Minneapolis for their family session and I can’t even put into words how lovely they were. Their daughter may have been shy at first – classic one year old stuff – but she was giggling and walking up a storm by the end. I feel like her fabulous shoes had something to do with it. A shoe girl is a girl after my own heart!

I love when clients drive in from Rochester, Red Wing, Duluth or even Bemidji for their family photographs; I know they are trusting me with their most precious time and investment and I am forever humbled because of it.

This little love is already one, even though I’m 99% sure her newborn session was just last week… but I suppose that can’t be true, can it? All of her sleepy newborn goodness has been replaced with sass and smiles and lots of giggles for her puppy. Adorable, right?

Her momma and dad chose one of my favorite locations in Minneapolis: the Stone Arch Bridge area of downtown. It’s a perfect mix of green and trees with both classic and modern architecture and perfect cityscapes. Add in a sunny evening and you’ve got a recipe for family session awesomeness.

I adore this little family! It seems like just yesterday their sweet baby girl had her newborn session and now she’s an adorable one year old. Mom and dad used to live in the North Loop and still have such a cool vibe that we opted for an urban family session for their baby girl’s first birthday photos. I love the way first time parents look at their babies. So much awe and wonder rolled up in so much love and, let’s be honest, usually a little bit of sleep deprivation! Getting to see this family again was so much fun. Not only did they pick one of the coolest spots in Minneapolis – Minnehaha Park – but the kids are just the sweetest you ever could hope for and even when they were getting tired towards the end and there may, or may not, have been a few tears shed, they were still so polite.
