I’ve been horrible about blogging since the end of last year! For those of you who may not follow me on social media, I took a much needed sabbatical from client work from December through March of this year. In addition to not capturing new client work, I also didn’t blog or keep up my online presence. Fingers crossed it doesn’t kill my Google search engine results – eek! But, if you’re reading this now, chances are you searched for “Minneapolis family photographer” or “Minneapolis photography families” or something along those lines and that, eventually, you made your way to my little corner of the world wide web. So welcome. I’m Rebeccah and, in addition to a ton of outdoor client work, I also have studio sessions from time to time. Here is a session from last November with the sweetest family. Their daughter had the stone-cold face of a trained poker player at the start of our session but, by the end, she shared her perfect little smile and it made my day!

This gorgeous family had outdoor photos taken at the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis in 2017 but opted for studio photos at the end of 2018. I think it was so they could wear their stunning, fancy outfits but, the Minnesota winter might have played a role too – ha! Whether inside or out, the smiles on their faces are priceless and the giggles you get from a toddler after a hard-earned game of peek-a-boo from behind your camera is the sweetest joy in the world. Okay, maybe in the photographer world but, you catch my drift.

Details: Petite Sessions are 30 minutes long and take place at a gorgeous field in the NW Metro about 45 minutes before sunset. Sessions generally yield at least a few dozen images, if not more, all images come in color and black & white and are delivered via digital download. It’s November in Minnesota so that can only mean one thing… urban family sessions in downtown Minneapolis because all of the pretty fall colors are gone so we turn to pretty buildings as backdrops! This family is always such a trooper about braving the chilly fall weather to get great shots around the North Loop area of Minneapolis. Brick, metal, sheet rock – you name it – this family loves it, and I love it too! Plus, who doesn’t love an adorable sister to sister smooch?

In case you were starting to worry that it’s all golden field sessions over here at Rebeccah Parks Photography, never fear! Sunset city sessions are here to keep things lively. This family had their maternity session at a gorgeous tree farm location in Anoka last year, but this year we opted for something more metropolitan so we headed to the North Loop area of Downtown Minneapolis and had a blast exploring. And I’m starting to think this family has some magic voodoo up their sleeve though because we always get the most stunning Minnesota sunsets on their session dates. I wish I could bottle it up and sell it!
