Where We Live Blog Circle-April_Minnesota Photographer
Month: April, 2014
Location: Ramsey, Minnesota
This is the first month of a new blog circle that I am a part of and I’m so excited that the snow that we just had last week is already melting away! It is still cold here, the windchill this morning was only 14 but it’s better than it was. We have had worst winter that I can remember here in Minnesota; record cold temperatures- so bad that they cancelled school 5 times- and snow and wind and then more snow… followed by some more snow. It had my husband and I throwing around the idea of relocating to a warmer state which, for anyone who knows me, is so extreme that it’s hard to think about. I am a Minnesotan through and through and can’t picture living anywhere else.
Thankfully, like every good Minnesotan, once spring comes- I forget all about the nasty winter and look forward to the glorious summer. Here was our home just a few days ago- the last photo was a close up of a single branch in our front yard, like some eerie winter ghost hand holding onto the cold.
Once you’re done here- head on over to another fabulous photographer who shares my awesome name by clicking HERE.
Stacey Carpenter - Wow! That is a lot of snow! This former Floridian has only ever seen 7 inches of the stuff. I’m sure you are going to enjoy spring that much more!
Kelley K - I do not envy you, having that much snow on the ground still in April! It’s been in the 50’s and 60’s in Atlanta much of the Spring and we’ve all been complaining about how cold it is here. And that last picture is so dramatic – love it.

Asheley - Hoping that spring arrives for you soon. I enjoyed these images, and the macro at the end is my favorite.
Paige Wilks - Oh Rebeccah, Your images so perfectly convey being trapped inside and longing for spring. They are so so beautiful, but I know you want to see GREEN! P.S. My favorite is of your daughter in the window. 😀
Sheila - BRRRRRRRR!!!!! So glad your thaw has started….well, supposedly…. Wonderful images of a winter wonderland!
Melinda Meredith - As a native Texan, I can not imagine living with this much snow. You have captured it beautifully!
Faye - Oh I’ve been there…used to live in Farmington. I know MN winters. It’s a winter wonderland. Can not wait to see your MN spring!
JAYNE - I have to tell you Rebeccah, all I could think whilst scrolling through your images was ‘wow, what an amazing place to live!’ Snow like this is such a foreign concept to most Australians – so please know that your suffering through such a cold, snowy season and the resulting images is appreciated by me 🙂
Christa P. - Oh that last photo needs to be blown up and framed! I know you all have had a VERY rough winter, but these are beautiful images!
Samantha - Oh, this looks familiar to me! We have also had the world’s longest winter here. It finally melted this past week, and today we got another dump of it. Love that last image!
Jen Reynolds - Seeing how much snow you still have in Minnesota makes me appreciate that Winter seems to be over where I live a little bit more. Hopefully spring will soon arrive for you. And that gnarled hand of winter is really kind of creepy- straight out of a Grimms fairy tale, the scary, original, non-disneyfied versions.
