I wish I had time to blog all of my urban minis from this year but, we know that won’t happen. What I will share is this sweet-as-can-be family right here who have trusted me for years to capture their only daughter and, let me tell you, she has gone from stone cold serious face to giggles galore. A real 180 and I’m totally here for it. This was a 20 minute mini session at an urban location right in downtown Minneapolis. It was my first time using this spot for minis but, with how great everyone’s images turned out, it might not be the last.

It’s autumn here in beautiful Minnesota and that means busy season for family photographers! And honestly, as busy as it gets, I just love it. I have had so many clients this fall that I am – as always – behind on blogging but I’m going to share a few sessions today. First up was this family of four with their adorable little girls who had a ton of run running and giggling in the field at their Petite Session. I know Google says I am supposed to write more words in these blog posts to get more views (that’s why all of our beloved recipes posts have soooo many words before just telling us the dang ingredients we need to buy at Target and how many ounces of cheese to use) but we all now what you’re here for – the images!

This lovely family had me out to their home to capture senior photos of their oldest son plus updated family photos. They had so many amazing spots for images that we just kept shooting and shooting. Living room with lots of art? Check. Patio with great light? Check. Backyard over looking the lake? Check. You name it, their house had it. But I’m here to tell you, that even if you don’t live in sleek mid-century modern home that seems magazine worthy, capturing family photos inside the place that is your respite from the world is always a good idea.

I don’t know about everyone else, but I am loving the semi-normal feel of summer this year! COVID is on the retreat (and hopefully stays that way!) and I am once again looking forward to my annual fall mini sessions. When & Where: Two options for this year! An urban location somewhere in or near Minneapolis, exact location TBD depending on construction in the cities this fall – on Saturday, September 25. And a field in the NW Metro, exact location TBD – on Saturday, October 9.
Cost: $285 dollars for a 20 minute session, includes unlimited images in color and black & white via digital download with print release.
Fine Print: Sessions are available for immediate families only; pets welcome. Includes ability to add prints, canvases, holiday cards, and albums after you’ve seen your gallery.

Summer babies are here in full swing! This adorable couple became a family of three when they brought home their little one, who decided she wanted to make us all wait an extra week for her arrival, but she was so worth it. No fussing, crying, or trying to break out of her swaddle at her in-home newborn session; just snuggles and a peaceful, sleepy little face. I also love when the family’s resident fur baby can be part of the photography session.
