This triangle family (triangle families are ones with only one child) and I met in the North Loop area of Minneapolis and walked around to numerous spots, taking in the pulse of the city and the beautiful Minnesota weather. There were foot races, tickle fights (that I’m pretty sure the kindergartener one every single time) and more hugs and kisses than I could count. So much love. Overflowing love. Unbounding love. The kind of love you hope flows through every family because it brings a smile to your face to just being in its presence.

I just adore this family. I have seen them through maternity, newborn, 6 month, 1 year and now 2 year photos and they are just the sweetest, most easy going family and their little guy never disappoints with his smile and joy. This year we went to the Lafayette Club in Minnetonka Beach, right on gorgeous Lake Minnetonka. The weather was lovely and we even had the whole place to ourselves due to some construction going on at the club! Talk about feeling fancy, one of the oldest and nicest golf clubs in Minnesota and it was ours for the playing; doesn’t get much better than that.

Okay okay, enough swooning (I’m getting light headed over here!) but seriously, this family paired with this gorgeous field location in the Twin Cities suburbs made for such a fun session that I actually left with my stomach in pain from so much laughing. Triangle families are some of my favorite families to work with and the love this family had was so tender it stopped me in my tracks more than once.

When you already have three gorgeous, silly, wonderful babies and then God gives you a surprise and sneaks a fourth perfect little one in the mix – you embrace it! These parents know the drill and, not only did a fussy baby not even faze them at their golden hour newborn session, but they took time to stop and appreciate each other as well. A strong marriage is the foundation of any family and I love when I can feel the love parents have for both their children and each other just leaping right out at me. Whether it’s dad fixing his daughter’s bow when he thinks I’m not looking, or brothers making each other laugh, or a mom who reaches for her husband’s hand without even realizing she’s doing it.
Those are the little moments I cherish at family sessions; that I know my clients will cherish.

Real talk time? I think I’ve found my dream field location and don’t see a need to ever venture from it again! Okay, maybe not *never* again… but truly, this little gem of a spot is absolutely perfect for golden hour family sessions. Lush and green in the summer and golden in the fall, what more could you ask for? It’s located just outside of Minneapolis, in the northwest suburbs, and I think everyone should come visit me there! #shamelessplug
This family has been coming to me since their oldest was just a toddler herself and now she’s a certified big kid and their little man is almost not a toddler anymore. The years just keep on passing by but I this momma takes the time to enjoy her babies.
