Champlin Family Photography

I got to spend the other evening with yet another family that has been coming to me for years and it always makes me proud. As a photographer, I cannot tell you how much it means to me to see families year after year; to watch their kids grow and to hear about all the new and exciting things going on in their lives. This family just got back from Iceland less than 24 hours before our session – talk about a family on the go!

We’ve gone to a tree farm, St. Anthony Main, the beach, and everywhere in between so this year we opted for a good ol’ field at sunset in Champlin, MN and gosh golly oh mighty was it a perfect sunset!

Minneapolis Family Photographer – Champlin Session

You know how every year I swear I’ve found my new favorite spot? Well, I’ve found my new favorite spot. Again! It’s a stunning field in the northern Minneapolis suburbs and it’s gorgeous whether it’s sunny or overcast. Room to run, open skies, and lots of green and gold – it’s a quintessential Minnesota location.

This gorgeous family won one of my Petite Sessions in a silent charity auction and used the session to celebrate their growing family. I have a feeling I’ll be seeing them again in the future, which just makes my photographer heart sing.

Looking for a skilled photographer who knows all the great locations? Email me today to inquire about current availability!

Minneapolis Minnesota Family Photographer

I originally met this family years ago, when they just had their two oldest kids, at an extended family session their in-laws booked. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of watching their family grow and this summer we headed out to the lake for a family photography session filled with joy and lots of splashing. Want to see pure joy? Tell a four year old he can get his mom, dad, and sister wet!

This lake location in the western suburbs, just past Plymouth, heading towards Lake Minnetonka, is one of my absolute favorites. The sunsets never seem to disappoint and the kids are always so cooperative because we tell them there’s fun in the water waiting at the end of the session.

Want to capture a quintessential Minnesota family evening with your own loved ones? Email me today to get on the calendar at this gorgeous spot!

I adore toddlers and babies. I really do. But you know what else I love? Big kids. Moms spend so much of our time capturing the early years that by the time our kids and tweens, we sometimes forget to keep on capturing them. I know I’m guilty of it myself!

This momma? She’s doing it right. Two years ago we went to the Stone Arch Bridge area of downtown Minneapolis but for this year’s photos we stayed right in their neighborhood in Edina. We met at this great weeping willow tree in Arden Park in Edina and the Minnesota weather could not have been more perfect.

Have big kids of your own that you need to have updated photos of? Email me today to find out about openings in the coming months; I promise it’ll be a priceless investment in your family’s memories.

Minneapolis Petite Family Photography Session

Every so often I’ll have clients who hesitate to book my Petite Session. People have been trained to believe that a solid 60+ minutes of shooting is required to get enough images. But you know what? It’s not true. Having been a professional photographer for almost a decade now, I can tell you that a good photographer can get a wonderful variety of images in under 30 minutes.

This family ended up with almost 40 keeper images from their Petite Session; more than enough variety. And the best part? Toddler attention spans can last 30 minutes easily. 60-90 minutes? Not so much.

So before you go looking for a photographer who offers to photograph your 26 month old for two hours, consider booking a Petite Session with me. Email today to inquire about remaining openings for 2018!
